Partners and responsibility
Who does what on your trip.
We plan your trip and stay your point of contact. Other companies — hotels, drivers, local operators, airlines — provide the parts of it. Here is how that actually works, in plain language.
What Next On Yatra does
- Listens to what kind of trip you want, and tells you honestly what is realistic.
- Selects and coordinates the travel partners for your trip, so you do not have to.
- Puts the plan together and comes back to you with it before anything is arranged.
- Invoices you directly, and settles the partners itself.
- Stays your single point of contact — before the trip, and during it.
- Takes any problem with a partner up with them on your behalf.
- Coordinates alternative arrangements when something has to change.
What our travel partners do
They provide the actual travel. A hotel gives you the room. A driver drives. A local operator runs the trek. An airline flies the aircraft. That is true of every travel company, including the ones that never mention it.
Each of those services is delivered by that company, to its own standards, and subject to its own terms and conditions — the ones that come with your booking. We choose who we work with, and we check them, but we do not fly the aircraft.
You are not handed off
This is the part most people are actually worried about, so it is worth saying directly: you will not get an email introducing you to a company you have never heard of and telling you to deal with them from now on.
You will know who is providing each part of your trip — you have to, in order to check in — but the relationship stays with us. If something is wrong, you call us, and we deal with it.
The formal arrangement
You pay us and we invoice you, and we deal with the partners on your behalf — that much is settled. The formal side of it, though, is not: whether we arrange your trip as agent for the travel provider or in our own name, whose terms apply to each booking, and how responsibility is shared between us and a provider if something goes wrong, is Not yet published: to be confirmed and published.
We would rather leave this blank than publish a description of a legal arrangement we have not confirmed. If it matters to a decision you are making, ask us before you commit to anything and we will tell you exactly how it works for your trip.
What an enquiry is, and is not
Sending us an enquiry is not a booking and costs nothing. Nothing is reserved and no money changes hands. We come back to you with options, and nothing is arranged until you say yes to it.
This website takes no payments. There is no checkout here and you will never be asked for card details on it.
Paying for your trip
When you go ahead, you pay Next On Yatra and we invoice you. You are not asked to pay several different companies for the parts of one trip, and you do not chase separate receipts.
We settle the partners providing your trip ourselves. How and when we do that is between us and them; it is not something you have to think about.
If you need to change or cancel
Tell us. You deal with us, not with a hotel's call centre or an operator you have never spoken to — we take it up with them and come back to you.
What is actually possible depends on the terms of whatever has been booked, and those vary a great deal between providers and with how close you are to travelling. We will tell you plainly what your options are rather than guess, and we will tell you before you book if something is unusually strict.
Things outside anyone's control
Weather, roads, strikes, permits and airline schedules do what they do. We plan around what is likely, we tell you honestly when a plan is fragile, and we help you re-plan when something changes. What we will not do is pretend a risk does not exist in order to make a trip sound better than it is.
Questions about any of this?
Ask before you plan anything. We would rather answer it now.
